SYNOPSIS:  255 pages. Jeff Davis was the Governor of Arkansas, and died on January 3, 1913, at age 51. This book was published in that same year, in Little Rock, Arkansas, possibly as a commemorative edition of his political career. Like him or hate him, he was a significant figure in Arkansas history.

Condition:
Ex Lib with all associated ex lib markings, stampings, bookplate, etc. This is in FAIR condition. Burgundy cloth boards with gold foil lettering on spine. Beautiful frontipiece portraits of the author and Jeff Davis on facing front pages. Signs of wear include the following:
Fading, soiling to cloth boards; chipping and tearing to spine cover; binding split with binding mesh showing at front cover; front endpapers loose and laid-in; last blank flyleaf loose and laid-in; inner pages age-yellowed. Inner pages clear and bright. Profusely illustrated with beautiful old black and white plates / photos. This is extremely scarce in this format! Most versions you will find are print-on-demand, or rebound paperback versions of later editions. A true collectible! Photos illustrate condition.
