SYNOPSIS:  474 pages. A naval war between England and Spain (1739) precipitated by British sea captain, Robert Jenkins, who appeared before Parliament to produce what he claimed was his ear, cut off by the Spanish while they were carrying out a search of his ship in the Caribbean. His story was probably at least partially fabricated.

Format: EX LIB.  Hardback. No dust jacket. Stated First Printing.

Condition:
 May have associated ex lib markings, stampings, redactions, labels, card jacket, possible removed pages with card jacket, 
occasional turndown crease, etc. This volume in Good condition. Red cloth boards with gold foil lettering on spine. Moderate edge rubbing, corner bumping, and soiling to covers. Binding split at inside front cover with binding mesh showing, still completely intact. Page edges do have some soiling and the occasional turndown crease. No markings (other than ex lib), tears, or flaws noted on inner pages. Inner pages clean, bright, and in excellent condition. Tightly bound. Photos illustrate condition of overall volume.
