Synopsis: 287 pages. Humorous biography of a woman who married a city man and then found herself taking a second place to his dream of becoming a country chicken ranch farmer and his chickens. Story was made into a successful 1947 movie starring Claudette Colbert, Fred MacMurray and Marjorie Main.

Format: Hardback, green cloth with black lettering on spine and black "rooster" graphic on front cover. No dust jacket. Not an ex lib. 

Condition: Good. Previous owner's name written in green ink on inside front blank flyleaf, and presentation written in very light pencil on opposite flyleaf: "From Bill, Xmas - 1946." Soiling to covers, dampstaining (white spots) to back boards. Foxing to endpapers, and occasional inner pages. Volume tightly bound and solid, no missing pages or other markings than those so noted above.
