SYNOPSIS:  430 pages. Hundreds of black & white photos & drawings. The students at Kennebunk High School in southern Maine have documented the skills and crafts and attitudes of the people in their own communities . This book belongs to a society that is ready to rewelcome its humanists and historians, its poets and philosophers, for it is an intensely human document, concerned with the quality of life. This is a book born from an alliance between young and old, a book that is an act of faith between the generations. The high school students who are the book's authors and photographers have brought to the alliance their labor, their eager listening presence, their respect, and sometimes, their love. The older people who furnish its substance have brought their time, their words, their experience, and their trust.

See pic of jacket flap for further synopsis.
